Fleksy Keyboard has fast become one of the top keyboard apps on the Play Store, offering quick and accurate typing along with a slew of other options and customizable tweaks. With each update Fleksy has managed to add in more features and improvements to enhance the value of the keyboard but with their latest update to hit the app it will be gaining the highest level of value yet, because Fleksy is making their keyboard completely free, and they’ll be keeping it that way for good. Prior to this update Fleksy has managed to discount the keyboard on a handful of occasions, and they have had a free trial version of the keyboard available for quite some time that allowed premium features for a short period. After today’s update though the premium version will transition into a free version moving forward meaning users will get all that Fleksy has to offer without having to pay anything.
Although the app itself will end up free after today, Fleksy will still continue to offer the in-app purchases for premium keyboard themes for those that like customizing the looks of their keyboards. This is where previous users who have already purchased the premium version of Fleksy are getting a little bit of a reward as a thank you for being a loyal customer. Fleksy will be offering up $8 worth of brand new themes and extension slots.
For those wondering why Fleksy would make the decision to go free instead of continuing to offer a premium app, it all comes down to being able to provide the experience to a larger audience. By transitioning to free, Fleksy is aiming to be able to serve a wider audience of users, and with more users Fleksy states they can focus on bringing more improvements spanning all the languages they support, which is quite a lot. Fleksy is also improving the experience users have with GIFs and stickers by launching an improved GIF and sticker content page. When users type anything in during a GIF search for example, the new page will allow Fleksy to help users find what they’re looking for based on what the user types up by giving them a recommended hashtag called a “highlight” to tap, which brings up a page with content that relates to the search. The update Should be live today for anyone who already uses Fleksy, and for those who don’t the app should now be free.
