A rather unexpected move from Samsung is supposed to happen soon, the Galaxy Note 5 could be launched a little sooner than September, which has been the month in which previous iterations have been introduced. Another change of their strategy is that while Samsung typically creates some variants of their flagship device, this time they would make a version of the Galaxy S6 Edge with a larger screen called the Galaxy S6 Edge+. We’ve been hearing some rumors about the specs of both devices and there has been some images floating around as well.
Of course, the more interesting device is the Galaxy Note 5, because the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is expected to keep the design of the regular version while the former device is supposed to be redesigned version of the phablet taking cues from the current flagship. The design of the new Galaxy Note includes a metallic frame and glass in front and back, but this time, the S-Pen could see the inclusion of a whole new mechanism.
Just a couple of days ago, both devices passed through the FCC to get certified, and versions for AT&T and Verizon were spotted. Now, the versions for Sprint have been noted being certified with model numbers SM-N920P for the Galaxy Note 5 and SM-G928P for the Galaxy S6 Edge+, so only the last P in those models is what changes from the ones from the other carriers and the nomenclature definitely goes in line with what previous versions have been known.
Sadly, no specs could be confirmed at this point, but the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is supposed to have the same specs of the regular version, but the screen will measure 5.7 inches so its dimensions will change though the resolution will be the same, possibly the front-facing camera will have an 8-megapixel resolution and the battery will most definitely be larger. The Galaxy Note 5 will supposedly carry 4 GB of RAM, which paired with the Exynos 7422 processor, should provide a very smooth experience with its 5.7-inch screen of QHD resolution. Anyway, as these devices receive more certifications, the closer their launch date will likely be.
