A lot of rumors have been flowing about the two handsets that Samsung is about to unveil, the Galaxy Note 5 was expected to launch on September as it always has, but this time it is said to launch a little earlier and a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge is also expected. Being a new move from the company as they had launched different versions of their flagship, but this could be a bigger launch as they are basing it on this successful smartphone and upgrading some of its specs, as the regular version wasn’t produced as much as the demand required.
Samsung announced an “Unpacked” event on August 13th, being a possible date for both devices to get introduced as the imagery of the invitation gives some hints of what looks like a curved device on both sides. The two new handsets have also been leaked several times, so there won’t probably be extremely surprising in terms of their design and some of their internals have been seen in some certifications and other documents, but nothing is set in stone until the official announcement.
On an even more surprising move, the curved device known as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is supposed to be a bigger launch than the new Galaxy Note, which had always been considered a flagship device that launched on the second half of the year. This time, though, the rumors mention that Samsung could sell the Galaxy Note 5 on some markets while making the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus available worldwide. Both handsets are focused on the design, as the company seems to have learned its lesson about the importance of design and build quality, and they carry a screen of the same size.
While most of the specs of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are expected to be kept the same, there has been conflicting information about the processor it might use. Now, the device with model number SM-G928F belonging to a variant of this device gone through the Geekbench test and it shows that it will indeed have 4 GB of RAM, which is also the rumored amount on the Galaxy Note 5 and the processor is apparently the Exynos 7420, meaning that it will be the same one as in the regular version and the scores of the new device are comparable to the ones of this version too. We will have to wait a couple of weeks to confirm all of this and see how it turns out.
