Samsung is supposed to launch two devices later this year, one of them belongs to the Galaxy Note series that has always been announced around September and the other one is supposed to be a variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge. It’s not uncommon for the companies to release some phones that share the industrial design of their flagship models with a larger or smaller screen and since the Galaxy S6 Edge was a greater success than what the company had anticipated, they chose to make a larger version of this curvy-screened phone, supposedly called Galaxy S6 Edge+. The new phone has been certified a couple of times, so we know it’s coming, and by this time we know a lot of details regarding its specs.
We’ve already seen a dummy of this phone compared to its regular-sized version, but that dummy was created possibly to test the cases for it. This time another dummy has been spotted, this time looking like a more finished version that could possibly be displayed in stores and it gets compared with the Galaxy Note 4. Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will have a 5.67-inch display, so it makes sense to compare it to that phone, as it has a 5.7-inch display. The new phone looks like it has a smaller display, but it’s probably due to the fact that it gets curved on both sides and the overall dimensions seem to be similar to last year’s Galaxy Note, though it looks slimmer.
Aside from the larger screen, the design is kept almost identical to the one of the regular Galaxy S6 Edge as well as the specs of its internals. The Super-AMOLED display will keep the same QHD resolution and the Exynos 7420 processor with the 3 GB of RAM are also supposed to make a return to power the new phone. Reportedly, this handset will be officially announced on August 12 and it will be available a little after, but it’s still unknown if it will launch globally or if it will be available on certain markets only. We’ll have to wait less than a month to know if all of the rumors turn out to be true.
