Back on July 17th Huawei teased the coming of a new smartphone which is to be part of their Honor brand, the Honor 4A, by way of an image that seemed to be stating that Huawei would be launching the Honor 4A in Beijing on July 21st. This was in addition to a teaser video which they sent out one day before that was pointing to a European launch of the Honor 7 which has already released in China. As of today the Honor 4A has now been seen over at TENNA which is usually a step before devices launch in the region, so it’s very quite possible that the phone will be announced officially very soon.
According to the TENNA listing the Honor 4A comes equipped with a range of decent entry-level hardware specifications, including 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, a 5-inch HD display, TD-LTE support and a 2200mAh battery to keep it powered up. It also supports Dual SIM slots so this should be a decent option for travelers who need to make use of two SIM cards for different networks. Unfortunately there is no detail on other exact specifications, like which version of Android it’ll be running under the UI skin used in Honor phones, and there’s no detail on what quality cameras will be used, although the images do show it will sport a rear-facing camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera.
It also appears to have a removable back cover so it’s likely to have a removable battery as well. As for the dimensions, the Honor 4A measures at 143.5 x 72.1 x 8.5mm. All of the other details at this point are unknown about the new Honor phone, with no mention of price, dates for purchase, or what networks it’ll be released on. All those details plus any other specs that weren’t displayed on TENNA should be unveiled tomorrow though if the phone is announced. Although the price hasn’t been mentioned yet, given the specifications it’s quite likely to be priced at a fairly low cost, so consumers shouldn’t be expecting to fork over a lot to grab one.
