Various leaks of the Moto G 3rd gen have surfaced over the last few weeks, one of the more recent showing up yesterday as an image of a dummy phone to be displayed in a Canadian carrier store, which seemed to display a very interesting characteristic of the upcoming new smartphone from Motorola, that it would come equipped with IPx7 water resistance to help protect it from the elements. The latest leaks seem to show off what look like more press renders of the device, although these wouldn’t be the first press renders which have popped up, press renders first appeared showing off the phone in white at the end of last month.
If there is any doubt left that this will be the design for the 2015 version of the Moto G, let it be cast out like a bad dream. While there’s still no confirmation on these image leaks or any other, all of the recent leaks that have surfaced since last month’s alleged press renders all appear to show the same device. When the phone launches it can be assumed based on the renders it will show up in white and black models for consumers, and just like other previous leaks the dual front-facing stereo speakers are present as is the front camera. The back pattern and design looks the same as previous leaks as well.
Perhaps more interesting the leaked images though, are the specs which have been listed alongside the images for the device on the website of a Swiss retailer named Digitec. According to the listing for the phone, the 3rd Gen Moto G will come equipped with a 5-inch Full HD display, a Quad-Core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM in tow, accompanied by an Adreno 405 GPU for handling the graphics processing. It was also listed as supporting Cat 4 LTE and coming with 8GB of internal storage space, but unfortunately there will no details on the camera specs for the front and back camera sensors and the site has since pulled the listing. Based on the image of the dummy phone though which listed a number of specifications on it, the cameras were set at 13MP for the rear camera with a 5Mp shooter up front, as well as support for expandable storage with a microSD card slot.
