Huawei is having a really good year thus far. The company did a great job in 2014, and they just continued building on it this year. This Chinese smartphone OEM has released quite a few devices this year, including their P8, P8Max and Honor 7 high-end smartphones. Huawei has also showcased their first Android Wear-powered smartwatch, and some mid-range devices. That being said, Huawei Mate 8 is probably the most anticipated Huawei-branded device at this moment. The Ascend Mate 7 was one of the best phablets, and all around devices of last year.
We’ve seen some leaks of the Mate 8 recently, and today another leak popped up, allegedly showing us Mate 8 in the flesh. Well, we can basically confirm this is not the Mate 8 because of its size, this device is way too big and is almost certainly a phablet. If you take a look at the first image in the gallery down below you’ll see how huge this device is, that thing is at least 7-inches big, if not bigger. It is, however, possible that this tablet will carry the ‘Mate’ naming. We’ve seen a ton of Huawei-related leaks in the past, including the one that the company is working on a ‘Mate’ tablet.
Speaking of tablets, Hauwei has announced three of them this year. The company has announced two mid-range tablets, the 7-inch Honor Pad and the 9.6-inch Play Pad Note. Aside from that, Huawei has also finally announced the MediaPad M2 about two weeks ago. Now, speaking of MediaPad M2, that tablet actually kind of resembles the leaked device we’re covering today. It is actually possible that the tablet shown off in the images is the MediaPad M2, the chances are slim, but anything is possible at this point.
What’s the bottom line? Well, take this images with a grain of salt, because the source really didn’t provide all that much info. Either way, stay tuned for more information, something will pop up eventually, and we’ll let you know when it does, as usual. No matter which device we’re looking at here, it sure looks very sleek and it is made out of metal.
