HTC’s new device rumored to be codenamed Aero has HTC enthusiasts looking forward to finding out more details. Back on July 13th users were able to catch their first glimpses at some pretty advanced looking concept renders of the device, and although these were just renders they paint a picture of what the Aero could look like. Of course, since they’re just renders, a final HTC product will more than likely look nothing close to what was dreamed up. The creator of those renders, Hasan Kaymak, has put out a few more today which build off of the original renders he put out a couple of weeks ago to give the design some more polish.
In these latest renders Kaymak’s imagination is boldly displayed by his placement of the volume rocker buttons on the bottom of the device instead of on the side where these buttons sit on virtually every other phone. It may seem a bit odd at first but it’s a unique trait that could possibly entice some users if it were ever implemented. They’re also positioned off to one side of the charging port so they’re not squarely in the middle. Another new element which has made its way into these renders is the presence of a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, something which HTC may or may not decide to include in the actual device.
In fact, USB Type-C wouldn’t be a feature that’s too far off from reality since it’s already making its way into multiple devices like the OnePlus 2 and others. The volume rocker on the bottom may not be too practical since you don’t naturally hold your device by the bottom of the phone, but it does give the renders some originality and character and if HTC actually used this design it would at least set it apart from other devices. So far there aren’t any confirmed details in regards to the HTC Aero, but recent rumors have pegged it for a launch on AT&T’s network in the Fall in addition to the rumor that it’s heading to Sprint sometime in the future. If networks are poised to pick it up in the Fall, it could be anywhere between the next few weeks to a few months before we hear anything official from HTC themselves.
