HTC Aero Also Heading to AT&T This Fall

We’ve been hearing rumors about this mystery HTC device lately, codenamed the “Aero”. Yesterday, famed leaked @evleaks, leaked on Twitter that the HTC Hima Aero is heading to AT&T as well. We’ve heard that it’s going to be sporting a QHD display along with Gorilla Glass 4. There was also talk of an improved camera, which will be a welcomed addition for most people.

In Evan’s tweet, he says “AT&T, too.” You might remember that in late-June, we had heard that the Aero was going to be heading to Sprint. So this could be one of those flagships that’s on multiple carriers, but not all carriers. What’s interesting to note here, is that the “Hima” codename was used for the HTC One M9 earlier this year, and now this new hero device is being called the HTC Hima Aero. So that sounds like it’s another HTC One M9 variant that’s coming out this fall.

HTC’s Cher Wang has been talking about a “hero” product coming out of HTC in the second half of 2015, to help gain more sales, as the HTC One M9 has sold less than the company had expected. This could indeed be that hero device, or it could just be another device that HTC is going to put on shelves for the fall shopping season, which is quickly coming upon us. From the specs that have been leaked, this does indeed look like a flagship high-end device, and we’ll be excited when it does finally get announced and becomes official.

In the last few years, HTC hasn’t done so well, they’ve been seeing a whole lot of red. With the HTC One M8, they started to make some progress and actually turned a profit for a few quarters. But with the HTC One M9, now they are back to seeing red. Which is unfortunate seeing as the HTC One M9 is a really great product – even if the camera isn’t as good as the Galaxy S6 or LG G4. And with the HTC Vive still being at least a year out, HTC needs something now, that will sell and sell well.
