OnePlus Confirms OnePlus 2 Comes With 4GB RAM

Over the last few weeks, OnePlus have been gearing up for the launch of the follow up device to the highly popular OnePlus One. The aptly named OnePlus 2 is now confirmed to be unveiled on July 27th and will be unveiled in virtual reality. However, in the run up to that launch event, OnePlus have been leaking specs of the device to the public on a fairly routine basis. These leaks have occurred every few days and have been revealing snippets of information on what can be expected. In term of the latest, OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will come sporting 4GB LPDDR4 RAM.

As the OnePlus announcement states (source link below) the inclusion of the 4GB RAM will result in a much smoother user experience and OnePlus claim will also add better battery life as well. In fact, OnePlus took the opportunity to briefly point out that 4GB will be leading the way in terms of what is on offer at the moment. As OnePlus stated “That’s more than, well, anyone else.” As such, the 4GB RAM is now added to the increasing list of confirmed specs that have been announced by OnePlus. For those that missed the earlier announcements, the already conformed information notes the OnePlus 2 will also come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (v2.1), a fingerprint scanner (which will be faster than TouchID) and a Type-C USB port for faster data transfer and anyway inserting.

In terms of pricing, there still had not been any definitive confirmation on what the exact price will be of the OnePlus 2. However, OnePlus did confirm yesterday that the OnePlus 2 will not be priced more than $450. It is firstly assumed that the final price will be very close to the $450 marker and it is also assumed that this will be the base price for the lowest storage unit with increasing storage options, increasing in price. Similar to how the OnePlus One was priced. Either way, with July 27th inching closer, it should not be too long before all (including final and definitive prices) are known.
