The OnePlus 2 is the latest device from OnePlus and follows on from the highly popular OnePlus One. If you were someone who never really followed the OnePlus One news, then you did miss out on what was quite a controversial marketing year. Following the release of the OnePlus One and throughout the rest of 2014, OnePlus embarked on a series of campaigns, contests and the likes. These were all with a view to offering the OnePlus community a chance to win an invite (or in the rarest of cases, a free OnePlus One). Some of the choices of contests and competitions were a little dubious and attracted its fair share of attention. Examples of these, including asking people to destroy their current phone, film the destruction and post it online. Another example was a Ladies Only event which asked females to pose with the OnePlus logo for a chance of winning.
Well, a year on and you might have thought that the company had matured and moved on from the antics that were in effect last year. With the exception of the already confirmed invite system that is. However, that does not seem to be the case as OnePlus has this morning announced a brand new content and this one does seem to follow on in the trend of last year’s contests.
#WWYDFT2 (What Would You Do For The 2) is the name of the contest and essentially is the task at hand. OnePlus are interested in finding out what you would do (or extremes you would go to) to win a free OnePlus 2. As such, they list a number of options that you can choose to prove your dedication to OnePlus. And like last year, some of the challenges are not for the faint of heart. According to OnePlus, if you want to show your love for OnePlus then you could organize a 50+ person flash mob. Alternatively, you could “Go run in the middle of a live performance or event while wearing a OnePlus t-shirt“. If you prefer something more personal than you could “Write a poem or sing a song about why you deserve the OnePlus 2 and perform it in public“. Of course, not all of the ten options are outrageous as you could “Drive around in your OnePlus themed car” or simply “Create an app for OnePlus fans and share with the community“. Either way, if you feel like taking part in the 2015 OnePlus competitions (and possibly win a OnePlus 2) then you can find out all the details and challenges by hitting the source ink below.
