Ramos is not exactly a well-known brand outside of Asia, but you might have heard of this China-based company. Ramos usually manufactures tablets, and they’re somewhat popular in Asia. Rumors regarding Ramos-branded smartphone have been popping up for a while now, and the company has finally introduced the device. The Ramos Mos1 is the company’s flagship smartphone, though its specs are actually mid-range. This is a solid device either way, let’s see what it has to offer.
The Ramos Mos1 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 401 PPI) Ultra Sensitive display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC powers this thing along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this smartphone, while you’ll find a 5-megapixel shooter up front. The 3,050mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.0 Lollipop will ship with this device with Ramos’ MOUI 1.0 installed on top of it. The device supports Qualcomm’s Fast Charge 2.0 technology and is made out of aluminum. The 2.5D curved glass can be found on both its front and the back side, while the device is 6.6mm thick. Speaking of thickness, the phone’s side bezels are only 1.9mm thick.
This is a rather interesting company, and it will be interesting to see if they’ll be able to do well in the smartphone world. The Ramos Mos1 will be available starting August 10 through JingDong Mall in China, while reservations for the sale will kick off July 31st. The device is priced at 1,999 ($322) Yuan, which makes it a compelling option, though it’s not the cheapest handset out there in its category. It is highly unlikely we’ll see this handset available for sale outside of Asia, so keep that in mind. You’ll perhaps be able to purchase it via various resellers, which is the case with a number of other China-based OEMs. As a side note, Ramos is reportedly working on the Mos1 Max phablet which will sport a 6-inch display and a 6,000mAh battery on the inside. Nothing is confirmed yet, but as soon as we get more info, we’ll let you know.
