Samsung Galaxy Note series is one of the most popular smartphone lines on the planet. Samsung has released the original Galaxy Note back in 2011, a device which has been huge at the time and has gained popularity really fast. This Korean tech giant has unveiled 3 additional devices after the original phablet, and the 5th-gen Note 5 smartphone is due to arrive this September, or so we thought. Rumors / reports have been going back and forth when it comes to the release date of this thing, and Samsung’s executive has said that the device will arrive in September about a month ago. Well, the newly surfaced report says that might happen sooner than expected, read on.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung will launch their Note 5 phablet earlier than expected in order to avoid competing with the upcoming iPhone. Apple will almost certainly announce the new iPhone right after IFA, and Samsung released every single Note device during IFA in Berlin. IFA is a trade show being held in Berlin every September, and according to the report, Samsung might change things up this time around. Keep in mind that we’ve seen a ton of such reports before, and they were false every single time. It is possible that this report is spot on, and that the Galaxy Note 5 will indeed launch before September, we’ll see.
We don’t have that much info when it comes to the Galaxy Note 5, but according to the rumors we’ve seen thus far, this phablet will sport a 5.67-inch display along with 4GB of RAM and multiple internal storage variants. The aforementioned display will be Samsung’s Super AMOLED QHD (2560 x 1440), and you can also expect a 4,000+mAh battery to be included on the inside of this thing. Samsung’s Exynos 7422 64-bit octa-core SoC is said to fuel this handset. This chip is actually really interesting because we’re looking at Samsung’s all-in-one solution, the chip will combine a 64-bit octa-core processor, GPU, RAM, storage and Samsung’s Shannon LTE modem. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on Samsung’s new phablet along with the company’s TouchWiz UI which will be installed on top of Google’s OS.
