With summer underway, the rumor mill is heating up nicely for all the devices which are expected to land over the coming months. That said, as it is the summer, chatter that you can count on at this time of year is Nexus talk. This year has been no different. In fact, this year has seen rumors of two different Nexus devices that might be incoming, one from Huawei and one from LG. Well, in terms of the former, Huawei, the rumors have been coming thick and fast and in detail.
The latest of the rumors surrounding a Huawei Nexus came in a couple of days ago and from quite a well-known tipster, @evleaks. As such, the details came with a sort of authenticity and were rumored specs that were taken quite seriously. In terms of the details provided by @evleaks, the tipster confirmed based on his sources that the Huawei Nexus would come sporting a 5.7-inch QHD display, along with a fingerprint scanner and a metallic body. Interestingly, @evleaks also noted that the Huawei Nexus will come loaded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. For those following the Qualcomm news, this is the next generation processor following on from the contentious Snapdragon 810.
Well, it now seems the battle of the tipsters has begun as Chinese analyst, Pan Jiutang, has come out on Weibo specifically stating that the Huawei Nexus will come sporting the Snapdragon 810 and not the 820. In fact, Jiutang, goes on to state that the 820 will not make it into devices until March of next year. With the very earliest that it is likely to make an appearance being December in the in the Xiaomi Mi5 Plus. As such, the December (earliest) date is much later than the November release time expected for the new Nexus device. In terms of Jiutang, the analyst seems to be sticking to his claims as he also suggested the 810 would be the processor used in the new Nexus as far back as the start of May. Of course, both the 820 and 810 claims are coming from tipsters and as such, either could be wrong. Interestingly though, they both do seem to agree on the 5.7-inch QHD display.
