Rumor: Meizu M2 Might Launch On July 28th

Meizu has released two smartphones in the last two months, the Meizu M2 Note and MX5. The M2 Note is Meizu’s mid-range handset, and a direct successor to the extremely successful M1 Note smartphone which launched at the end of last year. The M2 Note is even cheaper than M1 Note was when it launched, and it sports a somewhat better specs. The Meizu MX5 is the company’s newest flagship, a metal phone which sports high-end specs. We’ve actually reviewed the MX5 quite recently, click here if you’d like to check out the review.

That being said, our sources told us that Meizu plans to announce the M2 handset this month, and it seems like our info was spot on. The handset got certified in China recently, and a new rumor from China says that the device will be launched on July 28th. The Meizu M2 will be a smaller variant of the M2 Note, and it seems like it will resemble its big brother quite a lot. This smartphone will be a direct successor to the M1 which launched back in January this year. The M1 featured a 5-inch 1280 x 768 display, was powered by MediaTek’s MT6732 SoC and it sported a rear-facing camera along with 1GB of RAM. The M1 also shipped with a capacitive dot below the display, while the M2 will almost certainly sport a physical home button below the display, much like the M2 Note.

What about its specifications? Well, we can only guess at this point, but it is highly likely that the phone will sport a 5-inch display along with 2GB of RAM and 8 or 16GB of internal storage. The Meizu M2 will probably be powered by a MediaTek chip, quite probably the 64-bit octa-core MT6753 unit. The 13-megapixel camera is expected to be available on the back of this handset, and Android Lollipop will come pre-installed on this thing with Meizu’s Flyme UI available on top of Google’s operating system. There you have it folks, the M2 will quite probably arrive on July 28th, we’ll let you know if any additional info surfaces in the meantime.
