Samsung has released a number of devices this year, but the most notable announcement happened back in March. This Korea-based company has showcased their new Galaxy S6 flagships during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are now available for purchase all over the world. That being said, Samsung has trademarked the Galaxy A6, A8 and A9 handset back in March. We haven’t heard much from Galaxy A6 and A9 thus far, but the Galaxy A8 has been leaking all over the place.
This handset has surfaced in various leaks, from brochures and random renders, to hands-on video and a listing in China. The Galaxy A8 was also certified in China a while back, and we basically know how the device will look like and what specs will it sport. Well, the release of Galaxy A8 is right around the corner, and the phone has also been imported to India for testing recently. If you take a look at the image below this article, you’ll see the Galaxy A8 listing, courtesy of Zauba.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor will power this handset, and a 3,050mAh battery will also be available. The Galaxy A8 will be only 5.9mm thick, and it will sport a metal frame. As you can see in the image above, this phone will also sport very thin side bezels. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on Samsung’s newest mid-range phablet, and the company’s TouchWiz UI will come installed on top of it. The 16-megapixel shooter (f/1.9 aperture) will be available on the back of the Galaxy A8, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be located on its front side. The 4G LTE connectivity will also be a part of this package, of course.
There you have it folks, by the looks of it this handset might launch on July 17th, if not sooner than that. Either way, we’ll report back as soon as additional info pops up, stay tuned.
