Samsung have announced quite a few smartphones since January, and the most notable ones are the company’s Galaxy S6 flagships. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones are available for purchase all over the world at the moment. These two handsets are the first metal unibody smartphones this Korea-based company has ever manufactured, and we’ve talked about them quite a few times before. We’re not here to talk about the Galaxy S6, but another Galaxy-branded device which surfaced recently, read on.
Samsung had announced the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 handset a while back. All of these smartphones are mid-range offerings by the company, and back in March, it became obvious that Samsung intends to release more ‘Galaxy A’ devices this year. The Galaxy A6, A8 and A9 were trademarked back in March, and the Galaxy A8 has paid a visit to both FCC and TENAA recently. Well, the handset has showed its face yet again, this time you can see it in a hands-on video. If you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll see the Galaxy A8 in the flesh. This clip is actually over 3 minutes long, so you can basically see this phone from every possible angle.
The Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,050mAh battery will be available on the inside as well. The 16-megapixel camera will be available on the phone’s back, and you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel snapper on its front side. Samsung’s newest mid-range phablet will also offer 4G LTE connectivity option, and Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz skin on top of it. The phone will measure 158 x 76.7 x 5.94mm, and it will weight 142 grams.
There you have it, the video is embedded down below in case you’d like to check it out, and all we can do at this point is wait for some extra info from Samsung. The company will quite probably announce this handset in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that.
