We’ve been beginning to hear more and more about the Galaxy Note 5, which is due to hit in just a couple of months, actually. Even though there’s that rumor of the Galaxy Note 5 being announced early this year, we’re still betting on Samsung announcing it at IFA in September, as they usually do. Which would still put it ahead of the anticipated iPhone 6s that is usually announced in mid-September.
Today, we’re hearing another rumor, this time out of Sammobile, that Samsung is going with 4GB of RAM in the Galaxy Note 5. Which honestly wouldn’t surprise me. We already have the ASUS Zenfone 2 with 4GB of RAM, and a few other phones coming out of Asia with 4GB. And where the Galaxy Note 3 and 4 both had 3GB, it’s definitely the next step in terms of RAM.
The Galaxy Note 5 is looking to be a complete beast with the Exynos 7422 SoC on-board (there is still that rumor floating around that Samsung may return to Qualcomm for the Galaxy Note 5 though), along with a 5.67-inch AMOLED QHD display. Which will actually be a bit smaller than the previous two Galaxy Note devices, interestingly. No word on the build materials or size just yet, though. While Samsung might do something similar to the Galaxy S6, I do hope that they keep to the Galaxy Note 4 design. Keep the two flagships apart a bit. And we think the leather suits the Galaxy note line a bit more than the Galaxy S.
IFA is set to take place in the first week of September, as usual. That is where most of the phones for the end of the year will be announced from most of the manufacturers around here. Last year we saw the Galaxy Note 4, Xperia Z3, Moto X and a few other devices. However, the rumors of the Galaxy Note 5 being launched earlier are still flying around. We’re hearing that it could be announced in mid-August. If that is so, we should be seeing invites to Samsung’s event coming here in the next few weeks. Although they could still launch in Berlin if they could bring it to market sooner, like Apple can.
