Samsung is currently the number one smartphone OEM in the world. This Korea-based tech giant has released a number of devices this year, and the most important ones are the company’s Galaxy S6 flagships which were announced back in March. The most anticipated Samsung-branded device for the rest of the year is the Galaxy Note 5, but it seems like Samsung intends to launch some additional devices before the Note 5. That being said, another Samsung-branded device paid a visit to the FCC, and this time it’s actually a tablet, not a smartphone.
The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus paid a visit to FCC yesterday, or at least it seems that way, and now a Samsung-branded tablet popped up over there as well. To be more precise, the SM-T357W device was listed on FCC, and this is a 4G LTE tablet. This device was listed on July 15, and it’s compatible with FDD-LTE 1900 (B2) / 1700 (B4) / 850 (B5) / 700 (B13) MHz and W-CDMA 1900 (II) / 1700 (IV) / 850 (V) networks. The tablet also packs in dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless LAN IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, while Bluetooth is also present, of course.
As it’s usually the case with FCC listings, we don’t really get a whole lot of information about the device itself, aside from general connectivity options and usually quite revealing model names. That being said, this is almost certainly a new Galaxy Tab we’re looking at, a variant which will launch in Canada and the US. We’re still not sure which exact model this is, but considering the FCC certifiacation, we’ll probably see it launched soon, so stay tuned for additional info.
Samsung has released a couple of tablets this year (Galaxy Tab A models), but most of the consumers are still waiting for the company to unveil their new Galaxy Tab S models. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 models were announced in mid-2014, and are quite popular. These two devices sport beautiful QHD displays and powerful hardware on the inside. Anyhow, we’ll report back as soon as additional info pops up when it comes to this tablet, so keep your eyes open.
