Samsung Registered A Trademark For The Galaxy S6 EDGE+

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are the company’s newest flagship devices. These two handsets have been announced back in March, and sport almost identical specs, though they look quite different thanks to the curved display on the Galaxy S6 Edge. The two devices are available for purchase all over the world, but these are definitely not the only premium offerings Samsung will release this year. The company still has to release the Galaxy Note 5 phablet in September, and we’ve heard quite a few rumors regarding an additional high-end device, or even devices. Well, one such device has just been trademarked by the company, read on.

According to the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office), Samsung has just trademarked the ‘S6 EDGE+’ handset. The Korea-based tech giant has submitted the application on June 26th, and was granted the patent just yesterday. Now, we don’t have any specs when it comes to this device (aside from the ones that leaked earlier), but judging by its name, it is possible that this will be a phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge, which is quite probable considering the latest rumors saying Samsung won’t release the Note 5 Edge. It is very probable that the company wants to differentiate the S6’s ‘Edge’ branding from its ‘Note’ line of devices.

So, what can we expect? Well, first of all, this handset’s display will quite probably be at least 5.5-inches big, perhaps even 6-inches. If a recent rumor is to be believed though, the Galaxy S6 EDGE+ will feature a 5.7-inch display, and will be released in the third quarter of the year, which means we might see it launched in the coming weeks. The earlier rumor also stated that the phone will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pre-installed with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.

That’s more or less it, the Galaxy S6 EDGE+ seems like a bigger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge, and you can also expect it to sport curved display on both of its sides. That being said, stay tuned for more info, we’ll let you know as soon as something pops up.
