One of the most anticipated devices for the second half of the year is Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5, it might even come sooner than expected and with more leaks coming every day, this might turn out to be true. We’ve already seen some renders and pictures that came from case manufacturers, showing that the new design is inspired in the one of the Galaxy S6 with glass on front and back and a metallic frame surrounding the device. Its larger screen and premium build may be enough to entice some users, but this is a phone targeted to power users, as it includes the latest and greatest technology, and those users might not be as happy with a device that doesn’t feature a removable battery and a slot for expanded memory. These two features have been present in all the previous generations of the Galaxy Note series, but they are rumored to be absent for the first time in favor of a sleeker design.
The device has been certified by the FCC for some carriers in the US, including Sprint, reiterating that the Galaxy Note 5 is coming soon, and now, a document from that carrier mentions the technical specifications that the device will include. The first thing to notice is that the model number SM-N920P matches with the one that has just been certified and some other specs like the QHD resolution of its display, the 16-megapixel main camera with LED flash and 4K capabilities, plus the 5-megapixel one in the front won’t come as a surprise, there’s one feature that could make some users to look forward to this device.
The document mentions that the amount of internal storage of the device is 32 GB but it also mentions that it includes an external memory card slot, what’s more, it mentions that the maximum capacity of the cards is 128 GB. This is conflicting as one of the theories that explain why there’s no card slot in the Galaxy S6 is that it uses a super-fast memory module called UFS 2.0, which would be incompatible with memory cards, but probably Samsung has figured out a way to make it work. Other conflicting details are the 3 GB of RAM it includes and the Qualcomm name can be seen also, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to confirm the specs.
