Sony has an event next week, announcing a new smartphone. We are not sure what they are planning on announcing, but it could be either of these that leaked today. That includes the Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5. The Xperia C5 Ultra appears to be a near bezeless device from Sony. At least when it comes to the side bezels. Which is pretty amazing considering Sony’s bezels are usually pretty big.
According to Xperia Blog, the Xperia C5 Ultra is said to be a 6-inch display like the Nexus 6. It’s also going to be 1080p as well, so no QHD here. The sides are supposedly 0.8mm thin. The Xperia C4 was about 2.2mm thin. While the device has a 6-inch display, because of these small bezels, it would mean that the device isn’t much bigger than a regular 5.5-inch device. Or even the Moto X Style. Other rumors are pointing towards a 13MP camera on the front as well as the rear. So that should make for a decent selfie camera. It’s also going to have a MediaTek MT6752 processor which is clocked at 1.7GHz octa-core processor. Also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and there’s also a microSD card slot as well. Battery is only about 2930mAh unfortunately, which is smaller than the Xperia Z3’s battery.
The Xperia M5 is said to be a cheaper Xperia Z3+ from Sony. It’s rumored to be sporting a 5-inch 1080p Display. Along with MediaTek’s Helio X10 processor which is clocked at 2GHz octa-core processor. 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot also included. Leaks point to a 2600MAh battery inside, and Sony is claiming this will have 2-day battery life. Xperia M5 is also supposedly going to sport the IMX230 sensor, the same sensor that the Moto X Pure, or Moto X Style are using. The front-facing camera will also have a 13MP camera, similar to the Xperia C5 Ultra. Additionally, Xperia Blog is reporting it’ll cost under $400. Which is pretty aggressive for these specs.
Sony does have an event on Monday, we’ll be covering it. And Sony has been teasing some gold devices for next week. So it’ll be interesting to see what they have.
