Ulefone Will Soon Release An Apple Watch Look-Alike

Ulefone is a Chinese smartphone OEM which has released a couple of devices in the last year or so. The Ulefone Be Touch 2 is the company’s latest flagship, that handset sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is powered by MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.7GHz, and a fingerprint scanner is also a part of the package, not to mention that its frame is made out of metal. That being said, Ulefone has decided to step away from smartphones for a second it seems, as the company plans to announce a smartwatch soon, read on.

The company is going to release the Ulefone uWear smartwatch in the near future, and you can check out the device renders in the gallery down below. As you can see, this smartwatch is actually a copy of the Apple Watch, and it seems like Ulefone is fine with that. The company themselves actually admitted that they made an Apple Watch look-alike, and they obviously managed to do that. This Chinese smartphone OEM has actually asked their followers on Facebook to suggest names for this smartwatch, and it seems like the ‘uWear’ name stuck.

The Ulefone uWear will sport a pedometer and a sleep monitor, but we really don’t have that many details at the moment. The watch will be made out of metal though, or at least it seems like it. The digital crown won’t be present here, as it is on the Apple Watch though, and the uWear will be significantly thinner than the Apple Watch according to Ulefone. It remains to be seen if this smartwatch will be waterproof and what other hardware will be included on the inside. It is also unlikely this thing will be powered by Android Wear, but we’ll find out soon.

It will be interesting to see how much will this thing cost, Ulefone is well-known for trying to keep their devices affordable, as many other China-based OEMs are. Anyhow, we’ll report back as soon as we managed to get ahold of more info, stay tuned.
