Vivo X5Max+ Is Now Available For Purchase In China

Vivo X5Max was announced back in December 2014, and this Chinese smartphone OEM has announced a new variant of this handset back in March. The new variant is called the X5Max+, and interestingly enough, it wasn’t available for purchase up until now. The Vivo X5Max+ (32GB model) is now available for purchase in China for 2,998 Yuan ($483), which is not exactly the most affordable mid-ranger around. Vivo has been doing really well as far as sales go, so it will certainly going to be interesting to see if this handset will sell as well as their previous models.

The Vivo X5Max+ features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED panel along with 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). This smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.7GHz, and a 2,300mAh battery is also a part of the package. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this handset, while there’s a 5-megapixel camera available on its front side. This handset offers 4G LTE connectivity, and ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed with Vivo’s Funtouch 2.0 OS on top of it.

The Vivo X5Max+ sports a metallic frame, and is somewhat thicker than its predecessor. The VivoX5 Max was the thinnest smartphone in the world for a period of time (4.75mm thick). The VivoX5 Max+ is 5.1mm thick, which is still very thin, but not as thin as the X5Max was. The 2,300mAh battery on the inside doesn’t really seem like it will be able to provide enough juice to the device, but it all depends on how Vivo optimized this phone. Either way, we’ll find out soon, the moment first testings surface, so stay tuned for that.

There you have it, the Vivo X5Max+ is now available for purchase in China, and despite the fact it’s not exactly the most affordable mid-ranger around, this is a very solid offering by the company. It is not so likely you’ll be able to purchase this handset outside of Asia, at least not officially, the device might be available through resellers though. Either way, we’ll let you know as soon as Vivo releases additional information.
