We’ve already seen Xiaomi release a number of devices this year, many of which were smartphones. The company has unveiled Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Mi 4i and the 2GB variant of the Mi 4. That being said, Xiaomi is expected to release a number of additional devices before the end of this year. The Redmi Note 2 and Mi 5 have been leaked quite frequently in the last couple of months, and it’s only a matter of time before Xiaomi pulls the trigger. Well, Xiaomi has released a new teaser on their official Weibo (Chinese social network), let’s check it out.
If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll see Xiaomi’s ‘PK’ teaser. This teaser image is really not all that revealing, but that’s the case with more or less every teaser Xiaomi releases. We did notice one thing though, the vertical part of the letter ‘K’ actually seems to be either a side of a new product, or simply Xiaomi’s way of telling us they’re about to release something made out of metal. No matter which way you look at it, that part looks to be made out of metal. Now, we can guess what will this Chinese smartphone OEM release, but we don’t have that many info at the moment.
The announcement of either the Redmi Note 2 or Mi 5 are possible, of course. Both of those phones are expected to be made out of metal, so they definitely fit the bill here. However, it is also possible Xiaomi will announce something unexpected at that event, and the announcement of the second-gen Mi Pad is also possible. Either way you spin in, we’ll find out soon considering Xiaomi has also revealed that the announcement will take place on July 16th, which is only 6 days away at this point.
There you have it folks, all we can do now is wait. Xiaomi is well-known for announcing unexpected things, they dabble in pretty much everything, so anything is possible. The Redmi Note 2, Mi 5 and Mi Pad 2 announcements are possible, but be prepared for something else as well.
