Xiaomi has released a lot of smartphones this year, but the company still hasn’t released their new flagship, the Mi 5. That handset is due to arrive in the coming weeks, and same can be said about the Redmi Note 2, a device that has been leaking all over the place over the last couple of weeks. That being said, Xiaomi has released a ‘PK’ teaser on the company’s official Weibo (Chinese social network) profile a couple of days ago, basically saying they’ll release new hardware on July 16. Many people though this means the Mi 5 or Redmi Note 2 are arriving, but that won’t be the case it seems.
This Chinese smartphone OEM has released yet another teaser on Weibo, and it seems like they just confirmed the arrival of new Mi TV models. Xiaomi has already released two new Mi TV 2 models earlier this year, the 40-inch Mi TV 2 back in March, and the 49-inch Mi TV variant in May. Well, it seems like the Mi TV 3 models are right around the corner, and according to the teaser, we’ll see three different variants launched by this China-based company. This doesn’t exactly come as a surprise considering some Mi TV 3 info leaked a couple of days ago. According to that leak, Xiaomi will release 48, 55 and 60-inch Mi TV 3 devices, which will replace the 40 and 49-inch models. That leak has also mentioned that the new Mi TV models will be fueled by 64-bit octa-core SoCs, and the 3D stereo will reportedly also be a part of the package.
Xiaomi’s new teaser didn’t reveal any additional information though, but it once again says that the announcement will take place on July 16th, so stay tuned for that. As far as Mi 5 and Redmi Note 2 launches go, we still don’t know when will Xiaomi announce these two handsets. We’ve been waiting for the announcements for quite some time now, and if the company intends to stick with their release date schedule, the Mi 5 might arrive this month, though some rumors have been suggesting they’ll release their new flagship later this year. The Redmi Note 2 is already late compared to its predecessor, so who knows what is Xiaomi planning, but we doubt they’ll release either of these handsets on July 16th, only the new Mi TV 3 models are going to see the light of day it seems.
