abc.wtf Will Currently Redirect You To Microsoft's Bing

As is the case everyday, a number of news related items have emerged today in the tech world. Although, it probably does go without saying that the biggest news of the day is that Google has now become a smaller company within the much bigger Alphabet company. This news came through a blog posting from Google’s Larry Page who advised of the new company and Google’s role within Alphabet. That said, along with the announcement of the new company, a new website also popped up via the URL abc.xyz.

If you have yet to figure it out, this is the URL for Alphabet’s new site and makes use of their new name in quite a humorous and imaginative manner. Well, Google…or Alphabet, is not the only company out there who has a sense of humor, as it now seems that Microsoft may have just decided to try and steal some of the attention away and get in on all the Alphabet action. Right now, the even more imaginative URL abc.wtf will redirect you right over to Microsoft’s own search engine, Bing. Of course, this is not the first time Microsoft have taken aim at Google, lightheartedly (or not), with their infamous “Scroogled” campaign being the biggest headline grabbing attempt.

At the moment, it is not clear whether this is actually the work of Microsoft and likewise, it is also not currently clear as to how long the URL will remain in place and active. However, it is live and does take you over to Bing. In reality, it does seem much more likely that this is Microsoft’s doing and not some third party contributor and on that basis, you can definitely see the funny side of what Microsoft has done. Not to mention, the “WTF” in the URL does seem to highlight that today’s news of Google becoming Alphabet, has taken Microsoft by as much surprise as everyone else. Either way, if you want to check it out for yourself then you can by just hitting abc.wtf in your browser yourself and heading over to the Bing search engine. If you have never given Bing a try, then this is as good a time as any.
