AT&T Offering $500 Credits For Switching DirecTV Customers

Last week, AT&T launched a new promotion. In fact, it was actually a true new promotion as it was a first of its kind in the U.S. The promotion was simple, those who wanted to have one monthly bill for both their TV services and mobile data plans could now do so. The target figure was $200 a month and for this, customers could take advantage of four lines with a certain data allowance, free calls and texts and of course, their TV services. This was effectively an attempt by AT&T to very quickly make use of their recently approved acquisition of DirecTV. Well, following on from that announcement, it looks like AT&T are now trying to convert those DirecTV and U-Verse TV customers who currently do not have an AT&T mobile data plan over to their network.

The short of the deal is mobile customers who migrate over to AT&T can look at taking advantage of $500 worth of credits to be used against their bills. The more detailed explanation is that AT&T will offer DirecTV or U-Verse TV customers (who are not with AT&T) $300 worth of credits per line that they port over. On top of this, the same customers can also grab an extra $200 worth of credits by trading in their old smartphone for a shiny new AT&T one. As to be expected with a deal like this, there are certain aspects which need to be noted. The obvious one is that you will need to change your mobile plan over to AT&T. This does mean signing up for a new two-year contract. Not to mention, you will have to trade in your old phone to take advantage of the full amount and your device has to be in a good working order and condition.

As a further incentive, AT&T also state that those customers who do come over and who do combine their mobile and TV services into that new one bill format, can also receive 10,000 Plenti points which can then be redeemed through participating partners. To sum up, AT&T explain, that if you have four family members and all of them port over to AT&T and trade in their old smartphones for new contracts, then the household can expect a combined reward of $2000 credits towards the overall bill.
