Cricket Wireless offers affordable plans and a larger 4G LTE coverage than some of its competitors and while anyone with a GSM device could take advantage of these two aspects, when they activate them with this company, they also offer deals when purchasing smartphones. Now, two more mid-range phones with LTE capabilities have been added to the company’s portfolio. One is a phablet from LG and the other belongs to the Desire series from HTC, for those who like more of an HTC design.
The LG G Stylo features a large 5.7-inch screen with HD resolution and while it’s far from the sharpest display, the company has included some enhancements to take advantage of its large size. Two apps can run simultaneously with the Dual Window functionality and QuickMemo+ can be used to create notes or add comments to virtually any screen. To make it easier, this phablet includes a stylus, but it is pretty standard and it doesn’t offer any extra functionality unlike the S Pen from Samsung. The 3,000 mAh battery is supposed to last up to 23 hours. The cameras on offer include an 8-megapixel one on the back with laser auto-focus and a 5-megapixel one in the front, with some enhancements to take selfies such as Gesture Shot and Selfie Light. Its processor is the quad-core Snapdragon 410 and 1 GB of RAM should be enough to make a smooth experience of Android 5.1, which comes out of the box. This one is priced at $199.99 with activation.
The HTC Desire 626s features a design in high-quality plastic with dual tones. It integrates a 5-inch display with HD resolution to showcase the software experience created by HTC Sense, including some themes to personalize the device and BlinkFeed. Powering the device is a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor but it includes 1.5 GB of RAM, so performance should be good enough. It includes 8 GB of internal memory, but it can be expanded with a microSD card up to 200 GB. There’s an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel one on the front and Zoe can help create mini movies with the pictures taken. The battery has a capacity of 2,000 mAh and it also runs on Android 5.1. This one is priced at $149.99 with activation.
