Nothing in this world is free, and nothing in this world is unlimited. Everything runs out eventually whether it’s food, water, money, resources, or even cloud storage. Using the term unlimited can sometimes also have a tendency to confuse people which is a problem that the Evernote began to see with their service. They think of Evernote as a productivity tool to make your life easier, and not as a file storage service to store mass amounts of files. However, this is how some people were beginning to user Evernote Premium as it was stated to allow Unlimited space. Having discovered these issues Evernote decided to make some changes to the premium service they offer to customers.
If you use Evernote on your Android smartphone or tablet, these changes affect you as well as this is a service-wide modification. As of today, Evernote is changing Premium from having Unlimited to having a 10GB monthly cap for users. What this means is that you will no longer have a vast unlimited storage set for keeping all of your files stored and backed up. For most people, (according to Evernote 99.9% of their Premium users) this won’t be an issue and 10GB of new uploads a month is more than enough to handle what the service is being used for.
For those who use the Evernote Android app as well as the desktop interface, you can still use the app as you would normally. There are no new features or functions taken away from the service, the only difference is that Evernote Premium no longer allows for a completely Unlimited amount of storage for your files. Premium continues to cost $49.99 annually for those who need a little more space, but if 10GB is much more than you’ll need Evernote also offers a $24.99 annual package called Evernote Plus, which could be perfect for plenty of the app users out there. This comes with 1GB of monthly space for new uploads. There is also the basic option plan which gives you 60MB of new uploads each month. All of these options can be selected through the app, and if you go basic you can upgrade to either of the other two plans at any time right through the app, It’s rather quite easy.
