Most third-party keyboards out there are just that: a keyboard. Fleksy however, is not just a third-party keyboard. Through their various updates since the time of launch onto the Android platform they’ve added new features and functionality to the keyboard experience which has expanded it beyond providing users with a simple communication tool. You can see this made evident with the GIF keyboard feature, but in today’s most recent update Fleksy is partnering up with a company called URX to provide integration of mobile Deep Linking. What users will end up noticing is an enriched experience allowing them to use Fleksy like never before.
Utilizing the URX API within the app, Fleksy was able to provide users with the capability to do more with Fleksy than just type. It does this by enhancing the power of the auto suggestion hashtag Fleksy has implemented into the app, which helps Fleksy make even more useful suggestions to users on how to interact with things based on what they type. As an example, a user could be typing up a song name or the name of an artist, and in addition to the related GIF’s or stickers that may pop up as a suggestion to insert them into the message, the auto suggestion function can now suggest links to play songs from that artist via Sound Cloud or Spotify.
This is just one example of how the deep linking comes into play allowing users an easy method of listening to their favorite music, while accessing it through their favorite music apps via the Fleksy keyboard. This is just one of the “actions” users will begin to see alongside suggested GIFs and stickers when using Fleksy to type. Alongside the music actions, Fleksy will also have action categories for events and transportation. Fleksy also states that more actions categories will be added in the future as well, making this new deep linking content all the more useful. In addition to the changes listed above users will now be able to get smart predictions for relevant emojis based on what they’re typing. These emojis will pop up in the bar above the keyboard making the act of adding emojis to conversations that much quicker.
