Samsung wants to sell smartphones…lots of smartphones, but things have not gone their way lately. Even with their new metal and glass Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, redesigned from the ground up and well received by the critics, was not near the hot commodity Samsung was hoping to have on its hands. Samsung has already discounted their ‘bread and butter’ devices $100 earlier in August in an effort to boost sales. Normally when new devices come out, the prices start to drop on the older models, and such is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge offering up some real bargains.
With the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 out in the stores, some of the Canadian carriers have unceremoniously reduced the price of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Bell, Telus, SaskTel and Eastlink are offering some great deals. It could be they want to move the devices to make room for the new models, but the S6 Edge+ and Note 5 are really directed at a different crowd.
Some of these promotions may be short lived, so if you see a deal you like, you may want to act fast…remember, these prices are on a two-year term. Bell is selling the 32GB model of the Galaxy S6 for $199.99, the S6 Edge for $249.99 and the 64GB models of both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are only $10 more. On Telus, the 32GB Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are priced at $200 and $250 respectively and for only $10 more you can get the 64GB models. If you like the Gold Platinum color, Telus is selling that variant for about $40 to $50 less – the Galaxy S6 is $150 and the Galaxy S6 Edge is $210. SaskTel has the best pricing with the 32GB Galaxy S6 for only $149.99 and the Galaxy S6 Edge is only $199.99. Eastlink joined the party and discounted the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to the low price of $0 on its EasyTab plus option. It sure looks like it is the time to pick up a great new Samsung – prices are as low as we have even seen and for $10 more you can get 64GB.
