Huawei Teases Mate S Multi-Feature Fingerprint Scanner

IFA is very slowly getting closer and closer. In fact, it is only a matter of days away from starting. This year’s event looks set to be one which is going to be full of interesting announcements with a number of new products rumored to be on the way. While most of the talk is of smartwatches, for some manufacturers, it won’t be just smartwatches on offer. Huawei is largely expected to be announcing availability for the Huawei Watch. However, it has also become increasingly clearer that they will be unveiling one of their newer smartphones too.

The Phone in question is the Huawei Mate S, although it is also going by the Huawei Mate 7S name for now too. The Mate S has been pretty much confirmed by Huawei to be in attendance at IFA and over the last few days the company had been pushing out a number of teaser images detailing its latest features. Just yesterday, came the latest teaser which confirmed that the Mate S will come sporting Force Touch technology. This is where the screen is able to determine different amounts of pressure when being pressed and perform different features based on the level of pressure applied.

Well, Huawei have now released the latest teaser and this one is to do with the fingerprint scanner. However this is not an ordinary fingering scanner and today seemed to have been specifically chosen to post this particular teaser, as it five days before the event. Playing on the “5′ figure, the teaser highlights that the fingerprint scanner will be able to perform five different functions. This is a feature which has started to become more common with manufacturers who incorporate fingerprint sensors and Huawei have already brought gesture controls to their fingerprint sensors before. As you can see from the image, the tagline reads “5 powerful functions will fit in 1 square cm‘ which essentially does confirm both the fingerprint scanner and its multi use. With five days left to go, it won’t be long until all is known about the Huawei Mate S, although chances are, Huawei will be leaking more teasers before then anyway.
