Huawei Unveils Honor 7 In Europe, Metal Body In Tow

Huawei is one of the most successful Chinese smartphone manufacturers. This company has seen its profit rise both last and this year quite significantly, and the company has unveiled a number of really solid offerings. They showcased their P8 line of devices, the Honor 7i handset with a flip-up camera, the MediaPad M2 tablet, along with a number of additional devices. The company has also unveiled the Honor 7 smartphone in China back in June, and they’ve also announced that the device will be arriving in Europe as well, on August 27th.

Well, today is the day, Huawei has announced the European variant of the Honor 7 handset. “The Honor 7 embodies our philosophy and mission to enable superior mobile internet experiences for the internet generation and era. The device’s precise dimensions and metallic finish offer an optimal form-factor and premium feel, while its smart and multimedia capabilities inspire action and creativity,” said George Zhao, president of Honor. The company has announced that the device will be available in two colors, Mystery Gray and Fantasy Silver. The company has also said that the device will be sold in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Finland and The Netherlands. Huawei has also confirmed that other markets will follow soon, we presume they meant European markets.

That being said, let’s take a look at the specs of the Huawei Honor 7. This handset features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) JDI In-Cell Touch Display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 2.2GHz will fuel this handset, and a 3,100mAh battery is also a part of this package. Speaking of battery, the phone does support Quick Charging, but you’ll need to purchase a separate charger in order to take advantage of that. As far as cameras go, this phone features a 20-megapixel rear-facing unit (Sony’s IMX 230 sensor, Sapphire lens cover, f/2.0 aperture) and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter (f/2.4 aperture), both of which have LED flash included next to them. The Honor 7 is a dual-SIM handset which offers 4G LTE connectivity, in case you were wondering. The phone ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI 3.1 skin on top of Google’s OS.

The phone measures 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5mm, while it weighs 157 grams. The Huawei Honor 7 is made out of metal (+ceramic coating), and if you take a look at its back, you’ll notice that the fingerprint scanner is located right below the camera sensor. There you have it, the Honor 7 has been officially announced in Europe, but the company, unfortunately, did not share any pricing info just yet, stay tuned for that.
