Huawei has held a press conference in China today, where they announced the recently-rumored Honor 7i handset. The Honor 7i is a rather interesting mid-range smartphone which sports a flip-up camera, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which makes it unique. That being said, Huawei has announced yet another product during their press conference, the Honor Band Zero, which seems to be a cross-over between a smartwatch and a fitness tracker, at least judging by the looks of it.
The Honor Band Zero is made out of metal, and it sports a round body with rather significant bezels. This thing sports a 1.06-inch 128 x 128 OLED display which is sensitive to the touch. The band is dust and water resistant (IP68), and a 70mAh battery is also a part of this package. You won’t have to worry about battery according to Huawei, as you’ll be able to use it for around 4 days of standard use, and it can last up to 14 days in standby. This device is compatible with Android 4.4+ and iOS 7+ operating systems. It connects to your phones using Bluetooth 4.1, and you’re able to charge it using the POGO pins which are available on the bottom (similar to LG G Watch). The watch measures 38 x 95mm, and it weighs 25 grams.

The Huawei Honor Band Zero is a sleek-looking device, no doubt about it, just keep in mind that this is basically a fitness tracker, not a smartwatch, the looks might confuse you. The Honor Band Zero is priced at 399 Yuan ($63) in China, and is already available via Huawei’s official VMall and a Chinese reseller JingDong Mall (JD.com). Huawei did not say whether or not will this product be available outside of Asia, but we’ll let you know if they release any additional info, so stay tuned for that, we’ll report back as soon as something new pops up.
