As is the case with most industries today, connectivity and being ‘connected’ is where markets are heading. The car market is no exception. Over the last year, there has already been a number of major developments for cars to become more connected , with the biggest coming from Google last year in the form of Android Auto. Well, Mojio is a well known connected car company who look at ways in which you can make your unconnected car, connected. According to Mojio, the Mojio Drive open platform already has more than 800 developers working with the platform and as a result, there are a number of apps available through Mojio Drive today. Some of those listed as immediately available with Mojio Drive include, Gauge (an app which is designed to offer mechanic-like information), Cloak (which allows for constant monitoring of your car’s location), RepairLync (which interprets diagnostic trouble codes and is able to relay the info to nearby mechanics for on the spot quotes), Onsurance (which offers access to the best insurance rates based on your permitted driving history) and many more. In fact, there are even a number of more business usage apps like Dooing, which offers detailed tracking of drivers, vehicles and jobs for dispatch companies.
If you are interested in using Mojito to help connect your car and take advantage of the latest Mojito Drive apps then you will need to pick up the Mojito 3G+GPS device. The device currently costs $149 for those in the U.S. and $169 CAD for those in Canada. This includes the first year of service which is offered through AT&T in the U.S. and TELUS in Canada. After which the service can be continued at a rate of $4.99 ($6.99 CAD) per month.
