Multiple Leaked Images Of Sony Xperia Z5 Dummy Device

There has been an absolute abundance of leaks of late. This is not too surprising with Motorola, OnePlus and Samsung all holding their launch events over the last few weeks. This is in addition to the upcoming IFA event which is due to take place in Berlin at the start of next month. However, the real current leaking device right now is the latest from Sony. The Sony Xperia 5 has been in a torrent of news reports recently and pretty much immediately following the release of the Sony Xperia Z3+/Z4 a few months ago.

In fact, in the last twenty four hours alone, there has been a reported leaked promotional image of the back of one of the variants of the Xperia Z5, the Z5 Compact as well as a sketch appearing online of the Xperia Z5. Both showing minor details and features. Well, that has all changed now as known tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks) has now published a whole bunch of images of what is claimed to be a dummy device of the Xperia Z5 and these are some of the clearest images seen so far.

The images do show what is presumably the Xperia Z5 from multiple angles. The first thing to note is that the Omni Balance design is very much in use again. This is an aspect which had been reported previously and the new images seem to confirm this again. Other points to note, is there is no Type-C USB and instead a standard microUSB is in use. To add, the rumors of the fingerprint scanner seem to hold true. Unfortunately, in spite of the images, the size of the display could still not be confirmed although it is rumored to be in the 5-5.5-inch region with a possible 4K resolution. Based on the images, it does seem more likely that this will be closer to the 5-inch marker than the 5.5-inch one as the dummy looks a little on the smaller size side. Other rumored specs include 3GB RAM, a snapdragon 810 processor, 20.7-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. As with everything at this time of year, with IFA closing in, it should not be too long before more is known about the Sony Xperia Z5.
