The OnePlus 2 has been one of the most anticipated devices of 2015. This was the case before the device was unveiled late last month and seems to be the case after the unveiling, with the reservation list for the OnePlus 2 already exceeding three million registrations in only nine days. As such, it does look like there is quite the demand for the device. If you are in North America though, and are one of those who has registered their interest or is planning on picking up the OnePlus 2, then it looks like your wait will be a little longer than others.
OnePlus has today announced that OnePlus 2 shipments for North America are being delayed. OnePlus did not provide exacting reasons for the delay but does state that shipments to the U.S. or Canada will not take place for roughly 2-3 weeks after shipments commence for Europe. In terms of the delay, OnePlus simply state that it is “production schedules” that has led to the delay for customers in the U.S. and Canada.
Interestingly, OnePlus also confirmed that the delay in the shipping of the OnePlus 2, does not mean that those in the U.S. or Canada cannot still by the device. According to the announcement, if you have an invite and once the option to buy with an invite becomes available, then customers will still be able to buy their OnePlus 2. However, it looks like they will just have to sit tight until the North American shipments begin being fulfilled. In terms of when you can buy the OnePlus 2, then it is expected that those who received early invites will be able to start purchasing their OnePlus 2 from tomorrow, August 11th. If you have yet to receive an invite and yet to sign-up for the reservation list, then you still can do so. Although, as mentioned, you will be joining what seems to be a very fast-growing waiting list. Keeping in mind, the waiting list is only for an invite ad not for the opportunity to actually purchase the device.
