Sony has, much like HTC, had issues when it comes to their smartphone business for the past… well, quite a long time now. Sony’s sales aren’t exactly the best, and the company really needs to step up their game. Sony Mobile is only a part of Sony, so that’s something we have to keep in mind. Anyhow, the company has announced their Xperia Z4 flagship earlier this year, which actually launched as Xperia Z3+ outside of Japan. That handset really didn’t manage to awe people, and was more of an iterative update to Xperia Z3 than anything else. That being said, expectations for the Xperia Z5 are quite high.
Speaking of which, the Xperia Z5 has been leaking all over the internet lately, we’ve seen the phone’s alleged specifications, partially leaked device, and a ton of rumors. Earlier today, Sony’s unofficial Sony Georgia Facebook page leaked some info regarding Sony’s upcoming IFA announcement. According to that report, Sony plans to launch three Xperia Z5 devices during the tradeshow in Berlin, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium. These devices will be well-equipped as far as specs go, especially the Xperia Z5 Premium, which is going to be the ultra high-end device it seems. Some of the specs mentioned in the leak are actually a bit unrealistic, like the 4K display, but we’ll see.
Either way, we have a new leak to share with you now, the alleged Xperia Z5 cases surfaced. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice a number of alleged Xperia Z5 cases in various color options. Black, Red, Sky Blue, Purple, Dirty White, Pink, Bright Red, Yellow and Blue cases seemingly leaked on Sony Georgia, the unofficial Facebook page of Sony. We, of course, cannot confirm these cases are legit, but we’ll find out soon enough. You there are a number of cutouts on them, as you can see. On the right-hand side you can see the cutouts for power / lock button, SIM tray and the physical camera shutter button. There’s also a cutout on the back of the device for the phone’s camera and LED flash. Anyhow, stay tuned for additional info, Sony will hold their event on September 2nd, but we’ll probably see more leaked material before then.
