As most of you know, both Huawei and LG have been mentioned as manufacturers of the upcoming Nexus devices. The two companies have been mentioned in various leaks and rumors thus far, and according to the available info, LG is working on a 5.2-inch Nexus handset, and Huawei is in charge of manufacturing the 5.7-inch model. That being said, some new info surfaced regarding the 5.7-inch, Huawei-branded model, so let’s check out what’s new, shall we.
If you take a look at the gallery below the article, you’ll notice a couple of images showcasing the alleged Huawei Nexus smartphone. Now, these images go hand-in-hand with some of the latest Huawei Nexus leaks we’ve seen, but they seem a bit off, for a number of reasons. First and foremost, let’s take a look at the back of this device. The ‘Nexus’ logo is actually placed in a rather weird spot, it’s not exactly centered on the device. In other words, the logo is placed too low, and the serial number stickers are also placed in a kind of odd place here. Furthermore, the rear-facing fingerprint scanner seems to be a bit lower than we might have expected it to be, but the rather high placement of the main camera might be the reason for that. The front side of the device looks alright though, everything seems to be in place and the device seems a bit high because it will reportedly be a bit higher than you might expect. Why is that? Well, it will sport two front-facing stereo speakers, both of which you can see in the provided image down below.
That being said, let’s talk a bit about the specs of this thing. The Huawei Nexus will reportedly sport a 5.7-inch 1080p or QHD display, along with 3 or 4GB of RAM and will most probably be fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC. The Snapdragon 820 was also mentioned on a number of occasions, but that chip won’t be available until Q1 2016, and the Huawei Nexus will almost certainly launch in September of October this year. The device will be made out of metal, and it will also offer 4G LTE connectivity option, of course. The Type-C USB 3.0 port was also mentioned, and you can expect it to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed.
