The mobile market is kind of shaking, first it happened with tablets, whose sales were declining possibly because of a lack of innovation or changes between the old generation and the new one, and now the same thing seems to be happening with smartphones. Samsung, for example just announced two new phones, the Galaxy Note 5 was expected as a second flagship of the year, but the Galaxy S6 Edge+ meant a change of strategy as it is basically a version of the curved phone that was introduced earlier this year with a larger display.
Samsung couldn’t meet the demand of the Galaxy S6 Edge, so now those who wanted this particular phone will get to choose between a regular sized phone and one with a screen belonging to phablet territory. Of course, the new phones got a higher price tag, but the old models are being discounted on some carriers. Now, Canadian users can get the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge with reduced prices. On Telus, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in their 32 GB versions are priced at $200 and $250 respectively with a 2-year contract and the 64 GB versions can be purchased for only $10 more with the same plan. Meanwhile, those who like the gold colored version of these phones with 32 GB of internal storage can get additional discounts, as the Galaxy S6 is priced at $150 and $200 for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
On Bell, users can get a similar deal, as the 32 GB Galaxy S6 is priced at the same $200 and the 64 GB version costs $10 more, while the 32 GB Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at $250 and $10 will also get you the 64 GB model, both are priced at 2-year contracts, so users can get these prices with the carrier of their choice. Sasktel, which is only offered in the Saskatchewan region has the 32 GB Galaxy S6 priced at $149.99 and the 32 GB Galaxy S6 Edge costs $199.99 on any color. The Telus and Sasktel prices are listed as limited time offers, but it is unknown how much will this offer last, so those interested might want to act fast.
