Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 to Canada on Sept 16th

Samsung Electronics Canada announced that their new Galaxy Tab S2 will be available to the Canadian retailers on September 16.  The Galaxy Tab S2 is available for pre-order today and Samsung is throwing in a couple of nice extras – if you pre-order the Galaxy Tab S2 by September 15…the day before the tablet’s release…you will be eligible for 50-percent off a Tab S2 Book Cover.  The Book Cover attaches to the back of the device to add some extra security and transforms into a stand for your Galaxy Tab S2.  Buyers also get a two-year subscription for 100GB of Microsoft’s One Drive storage when they purchase the tablet, a three-month premium Next Issue subscription and three months of Google Play Music Premium.  Not a bad deal that allows you to sample a few products.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is Samsung’s “thinnest, lightest and fastest tablet to date.”  The tablet is only 5.6mm for both versions – a Wi-Fi only version that comes in an 8-inch, 43GB model for $499.99 and a 9.7-inch model with 32GB for $599.99 and a 9.7-inch LTE model with 32GB on Bell, Rogers and Telus…pricing and availability will be by carrier.  The Wi-Fi models come in Black, White and Gold while the LTE model is only available in Black. The Wi-Fi models will also be available from Best Buy, The Source, Staples and other retailers beginning September 16th.

Using Samsung’s Super AMOLED displays with a 4:3 aspect ratio gives you a brilliant and beautiful display while the screen ratio allows printed content to fit more naturally on the digital canvas for a better reading experience.  Samsung’s Adaptive Display technology automatically adjusts the screen settings based on what you are doing – reading, gaming or watching videos.

This flagship Galaxy Tab S2 uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED QXGA display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and is powered by a 64-bit Exynos 5433 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 1.3GHz and four cores clocked at 1.9GHz.  It is packing 3GB or RAM and 32GB of internal storage and has a microSD card slot to add an additional 128GB.  The Tab S2 comes with a healthy 8MP main camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera (FFC) for social media selfies or video chatting.  The 8-inch model gets a 4000mAh battery and the 9.7-inch model jumps that to 5870mAh giving both tablets the ability to make it through the day.
