Sony Xperia M5 Dual To Launch In Hong Kong In September

Sony is weeks away from their IFA event where it’s expected we might see the announcement of a brand new flagship device, but they just recently held an event in Hong Kong today for the announcement that they will be launching two new phones in the region: The Xperia M5 Dual and the Xperia C5 Ultra Dual, today’s announcement was more for the launch and pricing details of the Xperia M5 Dual though. Both the Xperia M5 and the Xperia C5 Ultra devices were also officially announced for the first time back on August 3rd, although details about availability in Hong Kong or other regions hadn’t been mentioned at the time.

With the Xperia M5 Dual, consumers in Hong Kong will be getting a device equipped with a 5-inch Ful HD display with a 21.5MP rear camera and a 13MP front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. Powering the device is a 2,600mAh battery, and running things is MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor alongside the 3GB of RAM. It also carries 16GB of internal storage with options for expandable storage and support for microSD cards up to 200GB. Both phones are expected to be available in the near future, with the Xperia C5 Ultra launching sometime next week while the Xperia M5 Dual launches in the region at a later date in September, unfortunately Sony didn’t mention an exact date for when it goes live for purchase.

As far as pricing goes, the Xperia M5 Dual is set at a cost of HK$3,698, while the Xperia C5 Ultra Dual is said to end up costing HK$3,298. Those costs convert to about $477 and $425 respectively. When it comes to colors, Sony didn’t state which colors of the Xperia M5 Dual will go on sale in the country but the image above shows the phone in white and gold, so it’s reasonable to assume these will be available colors. As for the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra Dual, this device comes in three colors of standard black and white as well as a mint option. Although no exact release dates have been announced just yet, those details should be made public fairly soon.
