After all the speculation over months of rumors and talk about what Samsung had up its sleeves, the Galaxy Note 5 is finally official and soon consumers will get their chances to scoop it up as their next device. This is in addition to the announcement of the Galaxy S6 Edge+, a bigger version of the original Galaxy S6 Edge which was launched earlier this year. With a big device like the Galaxy Note 5 it will definitely be hitting all major US networks and it likely won’t be long before the device hits store shelves at local retailers as well as online shops.
T-Mobile is piggybacking on Samsung’s big announcement today confirming they’ll be selling the device, so those subscribers who have chosen the Uncarrier won’t be left out of the mix for Samsung’s latest and greatest in the Note series. Since T-Mobile doesn’t offer contract plans customers will have the option of buying the phone outright for $699.99 for the 32GB model in either black sapphire or white pearl. If you’re on T-Mobile’s JUMP! On Demand plan you can walk out of the store with the device paying $0 down and just $25 a month tacked to your monthly bill, those without JUMP! On Demand can split it up using T-Mobile’s EIP payments at $29.17 a month for 23 months and $29.08 for the 24th month.
T-Mobile will also be selling the 64GB model of the device, with full retail set at $779.99. Those who choose tp pick it up with EIP and JUMP! On Demand can grab the phone for $99 down and 24.34 per month for 18 months, or with EIP and no JUMP! On Demand for $99 down and 23 monthly payments of $28.34 and a 24th monthly payment of $28.18. T-Mobile also won’t be doing pre-orders for the phone today at 3PM EDT like the other carriers, but you can pre-register today if you want to learn more about the device. Sales of the Galaxy Note 5 will hit retails stores beginning on August 21st which was Samsung’s listed launch date. T-Mobile may not be doing pre-orders, but there is an incentive to pre-register which you can do here, as T-Mobile will give you a free year of Netflix that normally costs at least $8.99 a month. The deal is you have to pre-register by August 20th and purchase the Galaxy Note 5 by September 30th to get the Netflix free for a year.
As for specs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes equipped with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 518 ppi, 4GB of RAM, and is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 7420 octa-core CPU. The device also comes with a 16MP OIS camera on the back as well as a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. When it comes to battery life Samsung has outfitted it with a 3,000mAh battery as opposed to making it larger than last year’s model, a change likely made due to what Samsung feels are an improvement on how the device will manage battery power similar to what they did with the Galaxy S6.
