Earlier today, Samsung finally took the wraps off of both the Galaxy S6 Edge+ as well as the Galaxy Note 5. While we knew a lot of what was inside of these two devices, it was interesting nonetheless to see Samsung announce their latest and greatest, after all a Samsung event is always entertaining. Plus, there were some surprises, like the fact that the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ can charge from nothing to fully charged in two-hours using wireless charging. Speaking of wireless charging, Samsung might be putting it into their new Gear smartwatch, which they teased briefly on stage right at the end of the keynote. We didn’t get much of a look at the watch, but we do now know that it’ll be announced during IFA next month.
As Android Central have discovered however, Samsung isn’t doing that good a job of hiding their upcoming smartwatch. A lookbook found on Samsung’s press site shows off the new devices announced today along with a couple of models wearing the watch itself. This gives us the opportunity to get a good, sharp look at the upcoming watch. It looks like Samsung is going after the everyday user here with a more regular, circular watch style and a fairly standard approach with a silicon band. Or at least, that’s what these few photos suggest to us, anyway. We’re sure that Samsung will end up offering a huge amount of different watch straps and such though, so it’ll be interesting to see how far Samsung can push the overall design.
There are a couple more shots in the gallery below, including some close crops, and if you’re interested you can download the cookbook for yourself at the source link below. With IFA a little under a month or so away, we should know a lot more about this new smartwatch before the end of the first week of September. For more on all things Samsung, keep it locked here.
