Verizon, AT&T, And US Cellular Confirmed To Carry Gear S2

While IFA was thought to be the announcement launch pad for Samsung’s upcoming Gear S2 smartwatch, (also their first watch with a round face) Samsung surprisingly presented their new device to the public earlier this afternoon boasting not one, but three different variations of the watch for consumers to get their hands on when it goes on sale including a 3G model, a classic model, and a regular model. For residents here in the U.S., options for purchase will likely be at a number of different places, and although T-Mobile has already confirmed that they would be picking up and selling the watch in their stores, not all consumers are T-Mobile customers, so it’s only a natural desire to know where else it will be available.

Alongside T-Mobile which is now the U.S. third largest wireless carrier behind AT&T and Verizon, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless, and AT&T have all confirmed they’d be selling the Gear S2 to consumers as well which means consumers pretty much have their pick of where to snatch it up. The only carrier unconfirmed at this point on whether or not they’ll be selling Samsung’s new smartwatch is Sprint, but hopefully those details will be made available to Sprint customers in the near future. As for prices, unfortunately none of the carriers have listed how much the Gear S2 will cost just at their respective retail locations or when it will go on sale.

It would appear that while T-Mobile will only be selling the 3G version of the Gear S2 as they confirmed earlier, Verizon Wireless has confirmed they will carry both the 3G model as well as the regular model of the Gear S2. When it comes to U.S. Cellular and AT&T, they have stated they’ll be selling the watch but it doesn’t look like they have mentioned anything about which models those will be, it’s quite likely though it will at least be the 3G model as this makes the most sense for carriers. Other retailers should be hopping on board to carry Samsung’s range of the Gear S2 in due time, with Best Buy being a surefire bet thanks to the Samsung experience sections in many Best Buy retail locations.
