Zopo is not one of the biggest Chinese smartphone manufacturers, but sure is an interesting one. This smartphone OEM has introduced their ZP999 (Lion Heart) handset well over a year ago, and have managed to attract consumers’ interest their way by doing so. The company has since then introduced a couple of new devices, like the Zopo Speed 7 and Speed 7 Plus which were announced back in July along with Zopo’s smartwatch. Anyhow, these two devices were available for purchase via a number of Chinese resellers for quite some time now, but Zopo has announced that the Zopo Speed 7 will launch in India officially today, and that’s exactly what happened, read on.
The Zopo Speed is now official in India. This smartphone offers more than a decent spec sheet for the asking price. The Zopo Speed 7 sports a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card). This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC along with a Mali-T720 GPU. The 13.2-megapixel shooter is available on the back (+LED flash), and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. This is also a dual-SIM device, and a 2,500mAh battery is also a part of the package. You also get 4G LTE connectivity here, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this phone with Zopo’s UI on top of it. The device measures 146.1 x 70.6 x 8.65mm, while it weighs 150 grams.
As far as the design is concerned, Zopa Speed 7 is easy on the eyes. The device sports rather thin side bezels, and looks quite sleek. Its camera protrudes a little bit on the back, and both of its physical keys are located on the right (power / lock and volume rocker buttons). The loudspeaker is, unfortunately, a rear-facing unit, as you can see in the provided image above. The device also sports some software features which are a part of Zopo’s UI, like the double-tap-to-wake feature, and all sorts of other gesture app-launching shortcuts. The Zopo Speed 7 comes in Black and White color options and is priced at Rs. 12,999 in India. You’ll be able to purchase this thing exclusively from Snapdeal starting this September (first week of the month).
