Smartisan is a China-based company which you might have heard of by now. This company not only manufactures Android-powered smartphones but they also make their own Android-based OS, the Smartisan OS. Anyhow, the company’s current flagship is Smartisan T1, which was also their first smartphone. This device was launched back in May 2014, and it’s about time Smartisan announces its successor. We’ve already seen some Smartisan T2-related rumors recently, including the one saying that the device might be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC. Well, the Smartisan-branded smartphone just got listed on AnTuTu benchmark, and it seems like this is the upcoming Smartisan T2 smartphone, even though the listing doesn’t really reveal that fact.
According to the AnTuTu listing, the Smartisan T2 (presuming that’s the device we’re looking at here) won’t be powered by the Snapdragon 820, but Snapdragon 808 instead, which is a 64-bit hexa-core processor already used in some smartphones like the LG G4. The listing also mentions that the phone will ship with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The display will measure 5-inches and will be 1920 x 1080 in resolution. The Adreno 418 GPU ships with the Snapdragon 808 SoC, and will be in charge of graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel shooter is said to be located on the back of the Smartisan T2, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front according to this listing. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this smartphone with the company’s Smartisan OS installed on top of Google’s operating system.
That’s more or less it as far as specifications go, though we’ll quite probably see more info in the coming weeks. Smartisan is said to be preparing a release of the Smartisan T2 for December, though that fact is still not confirmed. As a side note, the company has unveiled their mid-range Smartisan U1 smartphone last month, and it seems like they’re ready to reveal a more powerful device soon. The Smartisan T1 and U1 sported a rather interesting build, and it remains to be seen if the company intends to take a different direction with their upcoming flagship.
