Later this month at a press event, it is largely expected that Google will unveil its latest Nexus device. In fact, reports have consistently came in that Google will be unveiling two Nexus smartphones this year. One made by Huawei and one made by LG. Of the two, the Huawei Nexus is expected to be the more high-end variant and come boasting the better of the two specs, while the LG variant is expected to be a more affordable option and a refresh on the LG Nexus 5. That said, of the two, much more details of the LG Nexus have been coming through with many of the Huawei Nexus specs and features still being debated on.
Well, it now seems what is likely the Huawei Nexus has been spotted passing through GeekBench over the last few days. The benchmarks results show the device was benchmarked on September 10th. What makes this seem almost sure to be the Huawei Nexus is that the name of the device listed on the benchmarks is the Huawei Angler, which has been a codename associated with the Huawei Nexus in the past.
In terms of the benchmarks that have now surfaced, the Huawei Nexus will come sporting 3GB RAM. Inside, the benchmarks reveal that the Huawei Nexus will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, which is clocked at 1.5 GHz. This is along with an Adreno 430 processing the graphics. Although the 810 might seem disappointing to some, this is a spec which ha been rumored before and seems to make sense with the expected Nexus release schedule. The single core scores for the Huawei Nexus is shown as 1156 while the multi-core score comes in at 3641. The only other aspect worth noting from the benchmarks is that the Huawei Nexus will come sporting Android 6.0 (marshmallow). Although, this last point is something which is largely expected to be the case with any Nexus device that is released this year. Of course, benchmarks should not be taken as any sort of confirmation, but any news on either of the upcoming Nexus devices is news worth taking note of. Either way, as September 29th is the expected unveil date, much of the rumors and speculation will likely come to an end soon enough.
