Clove Reveals Sony SBH54 Bluetooth Headset UK Price

For some, IFA might have seemed like a long time ago already. Especially with all the inbound Nexus news that is happening at the moment. Well, in reality, IFA was not that long ago and the event brought with it a ton of announcements from a variety of manufacturers, including the likes of Samsung and Sony. In terms of Sony, the company was there to primarily announce the launch of their latest Xperia device, the Xperia Z5. Along with the standard Z5, the announcement also confirmed the launch of the smaller Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5 Premium with its 4K display.

However, that was also not all, as Sony also announced the launch of a number of accessories and products. One of them in particular attracted a good deal of attention due to its more unique nature and appearance. This was the Sony SBH54 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. Different to most headsets, this is actually a handheld device and is designed to offer users a more discrete usage of their smartphone. The device is able to connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth and then allows for the taking and making of calls. In fact, the device also comes equipped with an OLED display so the user can see incoming messages and the like. The SBH54 also comes sporting a number of other features too, like a splash-proof design along with NFC and an FM radio all built-in. This is all with a design which is supposed to illicit a “premium” look and feel. Of course, you can plug additional headphones and earphones directly into the unit too.

While Sony did announce the upcoming release of the SBH54, pricing details largely remained unknown. On that point, UK retailer, Clove seems to be now listing the headset and essentially confirming the UK price as £69.99. Which puts it round the $110 market when straight converting to the dollar. Unfortunately, the Clove listing does not provide any exact details on when the SBH54 will be shipping, although it is largely believed to be occurring sometime in the middle of October. Of course, there is no guarantee that it will be priced exactly the same in other regions, although this does at least provide a good yardstick to measure by.
